Demolish the existing 356-square-foot rear sunroom and remove obsolete interior partitions, fireplace, wall heater, furnace, water heater and electrical service equipment.
Add 1,085 square feet of conditioned space through coordinated front and rear additions, increasing the home from 1,300 to 2,385 square feet.
Expand the program from three bedrooms and two bathrooms to five bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, including a primary suite and powder room.
Create an open kitchen, dining and 10-foot-high family room alongside a separate living room, laundry room, walk-in pantry and primary walk-in closet.
Add a covered front porch, multiple curb-mounted Velux skylights, a 200-amp electrical service, EV charging circuit, split-system HVAC and tankless water heater.

Proposed lot coverage is 39.26 percent, preserving zoning compliance while the single-story design expands within the established residential context. The City of San Jose Building Division reviewed and stamped the plans for code compliance on February 20, 2025.
